Once again there is no money from Camden at all, so we ask ALL locals to dip into their pockets. The funds collected also pay for the flower baskets in the Village.

The History
In 2008, Angela King of Heywoods and I Robert Follis, arranged for new lights on the 3 large trees in Belsize Terrace and for the main tree opposite the Late Store to be lit using the existing set. The lighting was a big success, a benefit for all residents, traders and visitors to the village, brightening up the gloom of the winter.
In 2009 we repeated and extended the lighting to look even better. The main tree got a full set of top lights and with the help of the Camden Area Forums, we added the two heritage lamposts.
In 2010 we improved the lighting on the two heritage lamps.
In 2011 we add a fifth tree, the silver birch at the corner.
The Belsize Village association pays in full for the lights and needs to raise approx. £3000 from local traders and residents. We own the lights, but cannot install them permanently due to tree growth issues and liability problems. The cost of installation by professional contractor BPA includes £10 million of public liability insurance.
Most village traders are contributing, as are some of the offices and many local individuals.
100% of the contributions are commited to the Village
Anything you are able to donate would be much appreciated!
Any cash left over is used to fund the Village Flowers.
LIGHTING NOTES
All the lighting is energy-efficient LED lighting and running costs are minimal. We own the lights, but cannot install them permanently due to tree growth issues and liability problems. The cost of installation by pro-contactor BPA includes £10 million of public liability insurance.
Thanks To Brendan Pollard of BPA for all his help.
