Many people choose a 4x4 in the belief that their tall,
boxy design is a magic formula for passenger safety.
The motor industry misleadingly gives the impression
that they are much safer than other cars.
FACT: Neither crash tests nor the poor real-life
safety record of 4x4s support these theories.
FACT: 4x4s are involved in 25% more
accidents than ordinary family cars!

If a child pedestrian is hit by a 4x4 they are twice as likely
to be killed as in an accident with a normal car. The flat
